چکیده
Quantized nano-objects offer a myriad of exciting possibilities for manipulating electrons and light that impact photonics, nanoelectronics, quantum information. In this context, ultrashort laser pulses combined with nanotips field emission have permitted renewing nano-characterization control electron dynamics unprecedented space time resolution reaching femtosecond even attosecond regimes. A crucial missing step in these experiments is no signature quantized energy levels has yet been observed. We combine situ nanostructuration pulse excitation to induce multiphoton from single nano-object attached at the apex metal nanotip. Femtosecond induced tunneling through well-defined localized confinement states are tunable demonstrated. This paves way development ultrafast manipulation isolated including stereographically fixed individual molecules high brightness, ultrafast, coherent sources optics experiments.

Observation of bias-induced resonant tunneling peak splitting in a quantum dot
We have observed that, in zero magnetic field, a dc bias across a lateral confmed quantum dot (QD) splits each resonant peak in the differential conductance versus the gate voltage measurement into two. The splitting is nearly linear with the applied bias V, . Temperature-dependence study indicates that the corresponding energy separation between the two splitting peaks is close to eV, . A mode...
متن کاملSimulation of Direct Pumping of Quantum Dots in a Quantum Dot Laser
In this paper, the nonlinear rate equations governing a quantum dot laser isused to simulate the transient as well as the steady-state behaviors of the laser.Computation results show that the rate equations are capable of simulating true behaviorof a quantum dot laser. Then, the pump rates of the rate equations (which show indirectelectrical pumping of the quantum dots through a wetting layer) ...
متن کاملResonant photon-assisted tunneling through a double quantum dot: An electron pump from spatial Rabi oscillations.
The time average of the fully nonlinear current through a double quantum dot, subject to an arbitrary combination of ac and dc voltages, is calculated exactly using the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green function technique. When driven on resonance, the system functions as an efficient electron pump due to Rabi oscillation between the dots. The pumping current is maximum when the coupling to the lead...
متن کاملTunneling-Injection Quantum-Dot Laser: Ultrahigh Temperature Stability
We propose a genuinely temperature-insensitive quantum dot (QD) laser. Our approach is based on direct injection of carriers into the QDs, resulting in a strong depletion of minority carriers in the regions outside the QDs. Recombination in these regions, which is the dominant source of the temperature dependence, is thereby suppressed, raising the characteristic temperature 0 above 1500 K. Sti...
